Services

What we do — and what makes it different.

Four services, each with AI embedded at the process level. Not to replace experienced thinking, but to make it faster, better-informed, and more affordable. Every engagement carries a dark callout showing exactly where and how AI changes the work.

01

Digital Marketing & SEO

Search is still the highest-intent channel most businesses underinvest in — and most SEO agencies are still doing keyword research and content briefs the slow way. We don't. Our AI-assisted research process maps your competitive search landscape, identifies content gaps, and surfaces quick-win opportunities before we've had a second conversation.

From there, strategy is built on evidence, not instinct. We develop content programmes, on-page optimisation plans, and digital campaigns around what the data actually shows — not what a junior strategist thinks looks right. Senior oversight throughout. Faster decisions, cleaner execution.

We work with in-house marketing teams who need external expertise, and with businesses that don't yet have a marketing function and need one built properly from the start.

  • SEO strategy & architecture
  • Keyword & gap analysis
  • Performance content planning
  • On-page & technical SEO
  • Digital campaign strategy
  • Competitor monitoring
  • Analytics & reporting setup
  • Monthly retainer programmes

How AI changes this service

Competitive landscape analysis and keyword gap mapping that traditionally take 2–3 weeks of manual research take 48 hours with our AI-assisted workflow. We go into strategy sessions already knowing the full picture — which means we spend your budget on decisions, not discovery.

02

Content & Copy Production

The content bottleneck is real. Most organisations know they need more content — better content, more consistent content — and consistently fail to produce it because the traditional model (brief → writer → review → publish) is too slow and too expensive to scale.

Our AI-assisted production workflow changes the economics. AI handles research, competitive benchmarking, structural outlines, and first-pass drafts. Senior editors handle voice, judgment, accuracy, and quality. The result is content that reads like it was written by an expert — because the final mile was — produced at a pace and volume that agencies working traditionally simply can't match.

This applies across formats: long-form SEO content, website copy, campaign writing, email sequences, brand voice development, and editorial. If words need to work for you at scale, this is the service.

  • SEO content programmes
  • Website copywriting
  • Brand voice & tone of voice
  • Campaign copy
  • Email & nurture sequences
  • Long-form & editorial
  • Content audits & gap analysis
  • Social & channel copy

How AI changes this service

We produce content at a volume that would require a team of six writers working traditionally. AI handles the research, first drafts, and SEO structuring. Senior editors handle voice, accuracy, and quality control. Clients get 3–5× the output at comparable cost — and the quality bar is higher because our editors are spending their time on what editors are actually for.

03

Web Design & CRO

Most website projects fail at the brief. The design looks fine, the build works, but the messaging was never right — and a well-designed page built around the wrong proposition converts about as well as a badly designed one. We solve the messaging problem before we design anything.

Using AI-assisted analysis of your competitors' messaging, your audience's actual language, and your existing site's performance signals, we develop a messaging architecture that tells us — with evidence — what the page needs to say and in what order. Design and build come after, not before.

Every site we build is optimised for Core Web Vitals, structured for search, and built to be maintained by the people who own it. We build on Astro, Next.js, or Webflow depending on your needs and technical capacity.

  • Messaging strategy & architecture
  • UX & information design
  • Website design & build
  • Conversion rate optimisation
  • Landing page design
  • Core Web Vitals optimisation
  • SEO technical setup
  • Analytics & tracking

How AI changes this service

Before a single wireframe is drawn, we run AI analysis across competitor messaging, customer language from reviews and forums, and your current site's engagement signals. We know which messages land, which fall flat, and exactly what a qualified visitor needs to hear before they'll act. The design brief is sharper as a result — and so is the finished site.

04

Creative Recruitment

Specialist recruitment for advertising and marketing teams — in-house creative functions, agencies, and digital marketing departments. We hire creative directors, strategists, digital marketers, content leads, designers, and copywriters.

Because we work in creative and digital marketing ourselves, we understand what these roles actually require — and what a candidate's portfolio and track record genuinely tells you. We don't process CVs. We assess people. The shortlists we deliver are small, considered, and ready to interview.

Our search is direct, quiet, and fast. We operate on retained and contingency bases depending on the seniority and complexity of the search.

  • Creative Director & ECD
  • Digital Marketing leads
  • Content & copy roles
  • Brand strategy & planning
  • In-house creative teams
  • Agency & studio hiring
  • Marketing leadership
  • Contract & freelance placement

How AI changes this service

Candidate mapping across LinkedIn, portfolio platforms, industry databases, and publishing history — work that traditionally takes three weeks of manual searching — takes four days. We enter every search with a comprehensive long-list already built, which means our human time is spent on assessment and relationships, not spreadsheets. Better shortlists, faster.

The specifics

How AI actually functions in an Adjacent engagement.

Most agencies describe themselves as AI-enabled. Below is a specific account of what that means at Adjacent: what AI produces, at which stage, and where human judgment takes over. Read it as a sceptic.

Stage 01: Research

What AI assembles before strategy begins

For digital marketing and content engagements: competitor keyword rankings and topical coverage gaps, search volume and difficulty data by cluster, SERP feature analysis, and the verbatim language patterns used in competitor copy — including how they describe themselves and how their customers describe them.

For web and messaging projects: the messaging architecture and positioning language of a defined competitive set, structured for direct comparison.

For recruitment: candidates mapped across LinkedIn, portfolio platforms, professional publications, award databases, and published work. Long-list assembled before manual search begins. This takes 24 to 48 hours.

What a human does with it:

Reads it critically. Identifies what is significant versus merely visible. Draws the strategic conclusions the data surfaces but cannot reach on its own. AI does not decide what matters. A senior practitioner does.

Stage 02: Strategy

Devil's advocate before client presentation

Before a strategy recommendation is finalised, AI is used to generate the strongest available counterarguments to the position being developed. Not generic objections — the specific weaknesses in the data, the alternative framings a sceptical client or informed competitor might reach. We also use it to surface assumptions we have not yet tested.

The purpose is not to second-guess the strategy. It is to identify the weakest points before the client does. A recommendation that has been argued against is a more defensible recommendation.

What a human does with it:

Weighs each counterargument. Decides which are valid and adjusts the recommendation accordingly, or articulates clearly why the original position holds. Strategy documents are written by senior practitioners. AI does not draft them.

Stage 03: Production

Output by service type

Content programmes:

AI handles topic research, source identification, structural outlines based on search intent, and first-pass drafts. The ratio of AI contribution to human editing varies: a straightforward SEO article might involve 40% human editing; a piece requiring original argument, expert framing, or nuanced positioning will be closer to 80%. There is no fixed rule. The standard is that the piece has to be good, and a senior editor determines whether it is.

Web and messaging:

Copy drafted against the messaging architecture established in strategy, then edited for voice, precision, and accuracy. Design and development follow the messaging brief. Every page has a defined conversion purpose and is structured around it.

Recruitment:

The AI-assembled long-list is reviewed by a senior consultant against the specific brief. Candidates who match the data profile but would clearly not fit the specific context are removed. The shortlist presented is typically four to six candidates, not twelve. Every candidate on it has been assessed by a person.

What AI does not do

The things that remain human

AI does not make strategic recommendations. It assembles and interrogates the information that informs them.

AI does not have a client relationship. Every client conversation is handled by a senior practitioner who has read the brief, the research, and the prior work.

AI does not approve work. Nothing goes to a client without a senior sign-off from someone with the context to know whether it is right.

AI does not assess candidate fit. It maps who exists. A senior consultant decides who is worth talking to.

AI does not replace the judgment required to know what good looks like. That judgment comes from practitioners who have worked in these disciplines for years. AI makes their time more valuable by eliminating the groundwork that does not require them.

How every engagement runs

A leaner process. The same rigour.

Day 1–2

AI-assisted discovery

Before our first strategy session, AI has mapped your competitive landscape, keyword environment, and audience signals. We arrive with context that used to take weeks to build.

Day 3–5

Senior strategy

With the data already in hand, senior strategists focus on the decisions that require experience and judgment — positioning, prioritisation, and what the data actually means for your business.

Week 2–3

Accelerated creation

AI-assisted production — whether that's content, design, or candidate mapping — with senior review and quality control throughout. Volume without the compromise.

Ongoing

Measure & improve

Performance is tracked, reported, and acted on. Most clients stay because the work keeps getting sharper — not because they're locked in.

Adjacent works across specific sectors where the digital gap between referral-dependent businesses and their online competitors is largest. Owner-managed businesses in pest control, commercial cleaning, and B2B trade services are a particular focus for phase one.
